What Makes A Great Reed Diffuser?

Not all reed diffusers are created equal. Cheap diffusers use thin, synthetic oils that evaporate quickly and leave a harsh, artificial smell. Our reed diffusers use high-quality fragrance oils blended specifically for diffusion — which means a stronger, truer scent that actually lasts.

We also use proper natural reeds rather than synthetic sticks. Natural reeds have tiny channels running through them that wick fragrance oil up from the bottle and release it gently and evenly into the air — giving you a steady scent throw rather than a sharp burst that fades within hours.

  • Vanilla reed diffuser refill — warm, sweet and universally loved

  • Christmas Spice diffuser refill — festive seasonal scents available all year

Reed Diffusers For Every Room

Choosing the right reed diffuser for your space makes a real difference. Here's what we recommend:

  • Best reed diffuser for bathrooms — go for a smaller 100ml bottle with a fresh or floral scent. Lavender, eucalyptus or lemon work beautifully in small spaces.
  • Best reed diffuser for large rooms — choose our 200ml refill bottles with more reeds. Stronger, richer scents like vanilla, oud or sandalwood carry further.
  • Reed diffuser for the bedroom — lavender and chamomile are firm favourites for relaxation and sleep.
  • Reed diffuser for men — our deeper, woody and citrus scents make great gifts for men who prefer a subtle, sophisticated home fragrance.

How To Get The Most From Your Reed Diffuser

  • Place your diffuser in a spot with gentle airflow — a hallway, windowsill or mantelpiece works well
  • Flip the reeds every few days to refresh the scent — don't flip them every day or the oil will evaporate too quickly
  • Keep away from direct sunlight and radiators, as heat speeds up evaporation
  • For a stronger scent throw, use more reeds — for a subtle background fragrance, use fewer

When the oil runs out, replace with one of our reed diffuser refills — no need to throw away your bottle or reeds

Reed Diffuser FAQ's

How long does a reed diffuser last?

Most of our reed diffusers last between 8 and 12 weeks depending on the size of the room, the number of reeds used, and how warm the room is.

How does a reed diffuser work?

Reed diffusers work through capillary action — the natural reeds absorb the fragrance oil from the bottle and draw it up through the channels in the reed, releasing the scent into the air at the top. No heat or electricity needed.

What are the best reeds for a diffuser?

Natural rattan reeds are widely considered the best reeds for diffusers. They have more open channels than synthetic reeds, which means better oil absorption and a more even scent release. All our diffusers come with natural rattan reeds included.

Can I use my own reeds for a diffuser?

Yes — if you need replacement reeds for your diffuser, we sell spare diffuser reeds separately so you can keep your bottle and swap out the reeds when they get saturated.

What is the strongest reed diffuser?

The strength of a reed diffuser depends on the quality of the oil and the number of reeds. For the strongest scent throw, use all the reeds provided and flip them every two to three days.
